H.E the Minister of Energy Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, paid a visit on Tuesday 30 December 2014 to the site of Deep Gas Well (BD-1). H.E the Minister was accompanied by Bapco’s Board Chairman & Members, the Management and officials from the oil and gas sector of the Kingdom of Bahrain. During the tour, Occidental representatives gave a short presentation on the project in terms of objectives, engineering design and timeframe. This was followed by a tour to the well site facilities and equipment.

The Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) was signed in February 2011 with Occidental Petroleum designed specifically to explore and drill deep reservoirs. The Deep Gas project is in line with the initiatives and policies aimed at fulfilling the needs of the gas sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and facing the growing demand on energy.
